About Me

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Bible Studies at Bar-Ilan University. My fields of expertise include Assyriology and Iranian Studies, with a particular focus on ancient epigraphy. My research centers on the study of inscriptions and the history of the ancient Near East.

My current project deals with the socio-economic history of the Parthian Empire (247 BCE- 224 CE), mainly through an analysis of legal, administrative and literary texts. The project examines issues such as ethnic composition, social hierarchies, land management, labour, capital, markets and inter-regional trade in three key areas of the Parthian empire: The imperial capital of Nisa (Mithradatkirt) and its rural hinterland, Babylonia and the Parthian frontier regions.
