Abstract
Presents examples of women's Holocaust literature published since the late 1970s and charts the major trends of gender research within the framework of this developing field. Discusses three genres: individual memoirs, collective memoirs, and academic research. These works deal with topics such as Jewish women in Nazi Germany, in ghettos, in concentration camps, in hiding, and in the resistance. All these works are typical of the new wave of historical gender and family studies which made women into subjects and not just marginal objects of history.
