Abstract
Tractatus particulares is a four-part work assigned to Abraham Ibn Ezra (ca. 1089- ca. 1161) and extant in two Latin translations. The present paper shows that despite the repeated claims in the incipits and explicits of the two Latin translations, Tractatus particulares can not be a genuine work by Ibn Ezra or a collection of works by him. The source text of the bulk o/Tractatus particulares consists of Arabic to Hebrew translations carried out after Ibn Ezras death and associated with him posthumously. The present paper also shows that the Hebrew source text o/Tractatus particulares was created from the outset as a comprehensive multipart astrological work, a sort of medieval astrological encyclopedia.
