Abstract
At Tel Aviv University, a research is being conducted on a unique FEM using a traveling prebuncher which can operate at any frequency in the FEM's frequency band. The oscillator is operated at or near the desired frequency by e-beam prebunching. Results indicate that high gain amplification is obtained between the prebuncher input port and FEM output. The main amplifying action takes place in the prebuncher section. The FEM interaction provides one pass gain and acts as 'power booster'.
