Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the values of juvenile delinquents in Israel as compared with those of non-delinquent high school youth and to see whether there are basic differences between them as may be expected according to the subculture of delinquency approach. Analysis of the frequency distributions of responses as well as structural analysis of values do not show major differences between the 2 samples, thus providing support to the drift theory of Matza rather than to the subculture of delinquency approach.
