Abstract

Last year the 80th birthday of Uri Zvi Greenberg was widely celebrated in Israel. ‘Moznayim’, the organ of the Hebrew-Writers’ Union, devoted an entire issue to the occasion (October, 1967). The municipalities of Ramat Gan, where the poet lives, and of Tel Aviv accorded him Honorary Citizenship, and the occasion was also marked by a Special Session of the Knesset. For the third time he was awarded the Bialik Prize for Literature.
