Abstract

The undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, are discussed. The BS degree in chemical engineering at UC Berkeley, accredited by ABET, is acknowledged as one of most demanding majors on campus. Both MS and PhD degrees in chemical engineering are granted, but a preponderance of graduate students pursue the PhD. Education at the university consists a deep knowledge of the phenomenological concepts pertinent to transport phenomena, reaction kinetics, and thermodynamics.
