Abstract

The spectral line shapes of single molecules (SMs) embedded in a randomly distributed two levels system (TLS) have been investigated using the Kubo-Anderson sudden jump approach. The SMs exhibited a wide variety of behaviors in the random environment. The behaviors were analyzed using tunneling and glass models.
