Abstract
In Sect. 11.1 the relation between Glarean’s “dodecachordal” theory and Lippius’s triadic modal theory on the one hand, and the theory of dyadic and triadic modes and semi-keys, on the other, is discussed. Section 11.2 addresses, in the triadic context, issues of consonance and stability. Section 11.3 studies two important relationships between triadic keys, the “relative” and the “parallel.” Finally, Sect. 11.4 addresses the relationship between the theory of robust triadic keys and Schenker’s notion of “mixture.”
