Abstract

The inelastic scattering of electrons on the surface of a semi‐infinite crystal with creation of surface and bulk molecular excitons is considered. Analytical expressions are obtained for the cross‐section of inelastic scattered electrons. The angular and energy dependences of cross‐section are investigated. A strong peak of the electron scattering is noted to be due to definite value of the wave vector of bulk exciton. The possibility to investigate the exciton band structure is discussed.
