Abstract

The band spectrum of HgBr2 was investigated in the Schuman vacuum uv region (1800 Å-1900 Å). A new assignment of this spectrum is given. The vibration frequencies for HgBr2 were found to be: ν1′ = 185 cm-1 ν1″ = 221 cm-1, ν2′ = 20 cm-1 ν2″ = 53 cm-1, ν3′ = 224 cm-1 ν3″ = 295 cm-1.
