Abstract

The band spectrum of HgBr₂ was investigated in the Schuman vacuum uv region (1800 Å-1900 Å). A new assignment of this spectrum is given. The vibration frequencies for HgBr₂ were found to be: ν₁′ = 185 cm_-1 ν₁″ = 221 cm_-1, ν₂′ = 20 cm_-1 ν₂″ = 53 cm_-1, ν₃′ = 224 cm_-1 ν₃″ = 295 cm_-1.
