Abstract

The level spacing distributions of a confined 2DEG (2D electron gas) in a strong magnetic field are studied. As long as the Landau bands do not overlap the distribution statistics exhibit a sharp transition in the vicinity of the edge states. The level spacing distribution between the pair of edge states follow the Poisson statistics while the level spacing in their vicinity is non-universal.
