Abstract

The first crystallographic evidences of the theoretically suggested C ₂-symmetric cyclohexameric form of liquid methanol and the S ₆-symmetric cyclohexameric form of liquid ethanol are reported, trapped inside a hydrophilic pocket shielded by tert-butyl groups.
