Abstract
A simple model for the second virial coefficient of polymeric globules is developed based on the assumption that the interpolymer attraction is driven by surface forces. The second virial coefficient is expressed as a series in the scaled temperature parameter N1/2|τ|. A discontinuity in the second virial coefficient across the transition is predicted.
