Abstract

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are currently one of most researched novel nanomaterialsfor many future applications because of their exceptional properties. Chemical vapordeposition on samples with selectedcatalytic materials is a popular synthesis approach.Cobalt, one of the ferromagnetic metals, is commonly used as a catalyst material forgrowing CNTs. The synthesis principles and growth mechanisms of CNTs grown usingcobalt compounds as catalysts will be discussed.
