Abstract
It was hypothesized that level of communication and self-concept of deaf parents of hearing children are positively correlated. It was also predicted that each of these factors would positively correlate with warm feelings felt and expressed by hearing children towards their deaf parents. Some twenty-four Israeli families consisting of deaf parents and 48 hearing children were tested. The only hypothesis partially confirmed was that level of communication ability correlates with positive feelings toward the parents. The results were discussed in terms of the relation between deafness and personality, and of the differing roles of the father and mother in the family and Israeli society.
