The picoseconds structure of ultrafast rogue waves

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

We suggest a new mechanism for ultrafast rogue waves in fiber lasers. We claim that the ultrafast patterns arise from the non-instantaneous relaxation of the saturable absorber together with the polarization mode dispersion of the cavity.
