Abstract

The International Space Centre - ISC-Ashdod is affiliated with "The Space Park Ashdod", a not-for- profit Association. The ISC is allocated and designated to be a space complex, comprise of a wide range of activities related to space science and exploration, to be established in an area of over 5.0 hectares. The ISC undertakes to be the largest and most advanced Center of its kind, encompassing divers space related subject matters including but not limited to, astronomy, aeronautics, aviation, incubators, and astronauts training sciences, R&D, and space exploration. The ISC complex amalgamates interactive, experiential activities alongside education both in formal and in non-formal capacity, encompassing both a rich experiential and a unique learning and research center. The ISC is going to be one of its kinds in the Middle East Region, presenting equal benefits and opportunities to all. The International Space Center - Ashdod - a Center were studies and R@D takes place, where an exchange of ideas between scientists and students from all over the world occurs; scientists of all walk of life who wish to promote, explore and develop new technologies internationally in many areas: where the promotion of exploration, and the development of new research programs; organized workshops and scientific collaborations with international science and space communities shall be promoted and thrive. Ashdod is preferred location for the ISC; it is adjacent to Palmachim, Israel's prime space launching base, and in close proximity to many other space-related industries. Close by to the IDF Air Force base; next to the Ashdod sea port, half an hour travel time to Ben Gurion International Airport, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv. The International Space Center - Ashdod - a Center were studies and R@D takes place, where an exchange of ideas between scientists and students from all over the world occurs; scientists of all walk of life who wish to promote, explore and develop new technologies internationally in many areas: where the promotion of exploration, and the development of new research programs; organized workshops and scientific collaborations with international science and space communities shall be promoted and thrive. The ISC is founded and established by the "Israel Space Park Association" jointly with the Municipality of Ashdod, with the cooperation of international and domestic principal entities and space leaders. The ISC Senior Executives include, but not limited to, the Association's CEO, Dr. Igal Patel; Ms. Orna Marie Orshan, CLA, Vice President and CEO, International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs; Col. (res.) Avi Har-Even, the Association's Senior Member of the Board of Directors, as well as other senior international and domestic scientists, and high-ranking senior officials from diverse space related entities. The ISC project is viewed by all as a unique and most important and significant endeavor, one of its kind in Israel and the Middle East; educational and scientific enterprise, leveraging the State of Israel on the international stage, in the fields of space science and technology. The ISC is instrumental for providing future generations from the Middle East region and globally, with modus operandi and multilateral peaceful cooperation, in education, commercial, science and economics, bringing forth mutually new ideas and innovations for mankind's benefit and growth. In this paper we will describe the ISC structure, the educational plans (astronautic, aviation, science) and the space camp facilities and much more.
