Abstract

Surprisingly the oxidation of MoO43- by H 2O2 involves two H2O2 molecules. It is proposed that generally when the reaction of a reducing agent with H 2O2, to form a single electron oxidized product and a hydroxyl radical, is endothermic the reaction involves more than one H 2O2 molecule.
