Abstract
Explains why Israel, like South Africa and the Republic of China and unlike other states, acquired a pariah or an outsider status, why it happened when it did, and when this isolation process can be reversed. Argues that all pariahs acquired this position as a result of changes in the international system and could do little to prevent it. The status stems as well from the common characteristics of their regional conflicts and the similarities in their national strategic and ethno-cultural qualities. Focuses on Israel's condition. -from Author
