    Abstract

This chapter explores associations between teachers’ empowerment, teachers’ commitment, and teachers’ attitudes towards the implementation of the school-based management (SBM) policy. It reports on strong positive relationship between SBM and teachers’ commitment. Teachers involved in SBM educational structures reported more commitment to school as an organization. Findings indicate that commitment to student learning is more a personal attribute than an organizational attribute.
