Abstract

A bis-rhodanine was prepared from 1, 2 diaminopropane by microwave assisted synthesis and characterized by spectral data. The cytotoxic activity of the compound was studied by MTT assay. It showed a dose dependent cytotoxic activity and exhibited an IC50 value of 34.5 μg/ml against the HeLa cell lines. Molecular docking was carried out against the protein HPV 16 E2 present in HeLa cell line to study the binding capacity of the bis-rhodanine with the protein. It showed a docking score of -4.5 Kcal/mol involving hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic interactions.
