Abstract

An implemented illustration of an explicit component synergy and its usefulness in dynamic multiagent environments is presented. In such environments, agents often have three important abilities: collaboration with other agents; monitoring the agent's own progress; and modeling other agents' beliefs/goals. A synergy between these three components are discussed that results in significant improvement in the capabilities of each component. These improvement include: collaboration of component constrains the search space for the agent-modeling component via maintenance of mutual beliefs and facilitates better modeling; and modeling and collaboration components enable Social Comparison for Failure Detection (SOCFAD).
