Abstract
The mean free passage time (MFPT) of a one dimensional particle on a line segment subjected to deterministic telegraphic signal was performed. The MFPT was the monotonic function of the rate of a signal symmetric system and it was the nonmonotonic function or stochastic resonance (SR) for symmetry breaking. SR appeared for symmetric boundary conditions with a nonsymmetric telegraph signal. Larger the asymmetry of a telegraph signal, wider was the range of parameters for which SR occurred.
