Abstract

We examined the relationship between subjective age and acute stress disorder (ASD) symptoms after exposure to rocket attacks. Degree of rocket attack exposure has been positively related to ASD trauma symptoms (Ben-Ezra et al., 2011). Subjective age refers to how old a person feels, and it is typically addressed among old adults, where an older age identity predicts worse physical and mental health. Recent studies show that an older age identity is related to more posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms among middle-aged war veterans (Solomon et al., 2009; Avidor et al., 2014).
