Abstract

This paper presents a subarray scheme for a wide scanning active phased array antenna. The proposed scheme is analyzed in terms of its scan performance quantified in terms of parasitic lobes, i.e., quantization lobes. The study is supported with a case study. A design methodology thus, presented is expected to be useful in designing active phased array radars requiring faster update rates and adaptive beam forming capabilities with tolerable quantization lobe level.
