Abstract
A simple magnetometer is designed for recording the superconducting transition. The oscillator technique is used to determine how the magnetic susceptibility of the sample depends upon an external DC magnetic field. Magnetization curves are observed by means of a differential transformer. The nonlinearity in the magnetization curve can also be seen from the generation of harmonics, which are measured by a selective amplifier.
