Abstract

The structures of amorphous DyFe₂, TbFe₂ and HoFe₂ have been investigated using the extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS). The rare earth environment changes dramatically in going from the crystalline to amorphous form while the iron environment remains approximately the same.
