Abstract
Since Sen's (i966) pioneering study on labour allocation in a co-operative enterprise, a considerable literature has investigated the inter-dependence between labour supply decisions of different members of a producers' cooperative. Various assumptions have been employed to characterise the (perceived) impact, on the labour inputs of other workers, of a decision by one worker to change his labour supply. These assumptions have ranged from no impact, as in the case of Sen's peasants, to the optimal co-operative outcome
