Abstract

This paper presents a general spectral model for target detection in the visible spectrum and a cluttered environment. Having the model, the paper derives the optimal spectral filter to be attached to the camera's aperture plane to improve the detection abilities. Such filter may also be implemented by changing the integration periods of the R, G and the B channels of the CCD camera. Simulations demonstrate the abilities of the suggested approach.
