Abstract
Long-range intensity correlations resulting in the absence of self-averaging in mesoscopic systems were studied. The connection between the field and intensity correlation functions in the spatial structure of the three contributions to cumulant correlation function C, was investigated. Microwave measurements and diagrammatic calculations were carried out. Results showed that the correlation function of the normalized intensity with displacement of the source and detector, could be expressed as the sum of three terms, with distinctive spatial dependences. It was found that each term involved only the sum of the square of the field correlation function.
