Abstract

The fractional Fourier transform has become an important tool for signal processing. Based on this transformation, a novel transformation that applies different fractional orders for different spatial locations, is presented. Hence in filtering systems based on correlation operation, different amount of shift variance of the correlation peak is obtained in different regions of the input. A simple optical implementation and a various range of possible applications, are illustrated.
