Abstract
Design of side lobe blanking antenna in active phased array antenna (APAA) is discussed. The antenna configuration has been presented. The distribution of antenna is obtained by using Genetic Algorithm (GA). The radiation pattern of side lobe blanking antenna is demonstrated at bore sight as well as scanned condition without affecting the main beam radiation properties. The simulated results are in good agreement with measured results. The paper presents the simple method to design a side lobe blanking antenna using Genetic Algorithm to meet requirement of active phased array antenna at scan condition.
