Self concept, delayed gratification and field dependence of successful and unsuccessful dieters

Abstract

25 women who successfully reduced their weight were compared with an equal number of unsuccessful dieters on self concept (generalized self concept and physical self), delayed gratification, and field dependence. Significant differences were found for self concept and for delayed gratification, but not for field dependence.
