Abstract
Amorphous iron nanoparticles were self-assembled coated with octadecyltrichlorosilane and with sodium dodecyl sulfate. Characterization of the coatings was accomplished by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and floatability measurements. Under the experimental conditions used, the coatings prepared with sodium dodecyl sulfate were superior to coatings prepared with octadecyltrichlorosilane.
