Abstract
We have recently reported [O. Rozenfeld et al., Langmuir 10 (1994) 627] [1] our successful attempt to form self-assembled monolayer coatings of amorphous iron nanoparticles. In the current work we have succeeded in binding the thiol chromophore to the surface of amorphous iron. The coverage of the iron surface by long alkyl-chain thiol was as good as the coating of the short alkyl-chain thiol.
