Abstract
Lower and upper leaf surfaces of tobacco (Nicotiana labacum. Oriental, cv. Michal) showed considerable microlopographical changes as a result of infection with the blue mold fungal agent Peronospora hyoscyami. Starting from the 5th day after inoculation, epicuticular wax deposits, resembling a "brain-coral" in appearance, accumulated on both leaf surfaces. On the 9th day after inoculation wax deposits coalesced and produced a heavy, cracked-porous coating.
