Abstract

In this paper we propose and discuss new approaches to improve resolution and field of view of an aperture limited imaging system. The key idea is to perform object information coding previously the imaging system. By properly definition of such coding stage, it is possible to transmit additional object information through the limited aperture of the imaging system. After this process is produced, a decoding stage is needed to recover this extra object information and to obtain the desired improvement in resolution or in field of view. The results presented in this paper implies superresolution effect obtained using environmental conditions such as rain and urban fences, and field of view improvement achieved by axial temporal coherence coding of different regions of the object field of view.
