Abstract

We consider a low density electron gas (rs ≈ 10) imbedded in a highly dirpersive bachground, and show that the large dispersion leads to a sharp and large velocity peak at k = kF, which persists in the presence of screening. This peak accounts for the anomalous transport properties of high-Tc cuprates in the normal state, the temperature dependence of the Hall effect and TEP, as well as the high value of Tc.
