Abstract
This chapter explores the transformative collaboration with an anthroposophy-based school, the Playschool, focused on understanding and enhancing the principles of playful learning, through a research-practice partnership (RPP). Initially, the school principal and teachers saw the Playschool as a model of playful education. However, collaborative research suggested that the school prioritized a teacher-centered approach over child-centered pedagogy, the cornerstone of playful learning. The research process led to profound realizations that play was not merely extracurricular but fundamental for holistic child development. As the partnership progressed, the school team embraced new perspectives, challenged preconceived notions, and re-evaluated their pedagogical approach. The experience underscores the significance of RPPs for educational transformation by unravelling misconceptions, challenging assumptions, and fostering new understandings.
