Abstract

(Figure Presented) Take the rough with the smooth: Conducting silica microspheres with different morphologies - rough, dotted, and smooth (see picture) - have been rapidly synthesized in an ionic liquid under various experimental conditions. The conducting property of the silica particles is attributed to the presence of entrapped molecules of ionic liquid and water.
