Abstract
The article offers information about psalms, particularly on the use of psalmody within the oral practice of the East-European liturgical tradition. It discusses the idea of psalmody in Jewish scholarship and the development of psalmody in Christian liturgy. Information about the Christian and Jewish conceptions of a religious service is presented.
