Abstract
The aim of the present review is to give a detailed picture of the work done in many laboratories to define conditions for the production of HuIFN gamma . In order to get a better insight into production and purification problems, the characteristics of IFN gamma are first described followed by a description of assay methods, which are indispensable for the production and purification processes. These processes are discussed in detail.
