Abstract
An alkaline lipase producing strain of Aspergillus fumigatus was isolated from soil and optimum conditions for lipase production under solid substrate fermentation (SSF) were determined. Maximum lipase production occurred after 96 h at 30°C in medium containing natural substrates and having initial pH 8. Among various combinations of natural substrates, mixture of rice bran, rice husk and gram hull in a ratio of 5:3:2 was found most suitable.
