Funding Information:This book, however, is an expanded result both of that panel, and of our conviction that lbn Qayyim al-Gawziyyah's legacy stands on its own merits and deserves to be studied. The book is a part of two research projects, which both of us conduct separately: Caterina Bori's project, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, is entitled "Islamic Pathways to Reform: the Reception of lbn Taymiyyah between the xvi and xviii centuries"; Livnat Holtzman's project, funded by the Israel Science Foundation, is entitled "Practical Aspects in the Theological Thought oflbn Qayyim al-Jawziyya".
