N2 - The persistent-current characteristics of two-dimensional strongly interacting systems are investigated. The response to an external magnetic field, the sensitivity to addition of a single scatterer and the noise autocorrelation in the strongly interacting regime are different to those in the non-interacting diffusive regime. The response in the strongly interacting regime is consistent with a persistent current carried by a series of one-dimensional channels.
