Abstract

With the rapid evolution of modern transportation and communications technologies, geographical mobility has become one of the most salient characteristics of our era. We move to new neighbourhoods, distant cities, and even to foreign countries with unprecedented ease and frequency. In the occupational sphere, the phenomenon of “relocation” has become progressively more common, as increasing numbers of workers are affected by company-initiated transfers to relatively distant places of work.
