Abstract
The formation of (1+1)D and (2+1)D solitons in photorefractive CdZnTe:V was reported. Resonance intensity of the nonlinearity was controlled by applying background illumination at a wavelength different to that of soliton. It was estimated that photorefractive solitons in CdZnTe could be formed within 100 ns, using light beams emerging from ordinary fiber communication links.
