N2 - The purpose of the present paper is to provide our data on the effects of phototherapy on peripheral nerve recovery. The aim is to call attention to an issue that still requires much research to elucidate the biological mechanisms through which phototherapy exerts its effects on nerve tissue, and to provide clinicians with the basis for planning clinical trials on the use of phototherapy for enhancing post-traumatic nerve regeneration.
