Phase correlations in transmission through a cavity

Abstract

The transmission phase of a disordered cavity connected to two one-dimensional leads is numerically calculated. Long-range correlations between the phases at different transmission energies are observed. This correlation exhibits oscillations with a period which depends on the Thouless energy of the cavity.
